Osteopathy treatment
Osteopathy is an alternative approach to the treatment of almost any musculoskeletal conditions, muscle pain and aches and joint problems. Osteopaths are regulated by The General Osteopathic council (GOsC) who sets high standards of osteopathic practice to ensure that practitioners have the level of knowledge and skills necessary to safely practice manual therapy on patients. Osteopaths treat men, woman and children from all walks of life. The age ranges from babies (who mainly come in for cranial Osteopathy) to 95 year old (who mainly have a lots of wear and tear). The main age group of patients seeking Osteopathic care is between 30 and 59 years old. Almost half of patients come to see an osteopath for lower back and pelvic pain, more than quarter patients present with complaints of neck, shoulder and upper back pain, headache represents about 7 % of visits. This is then followed closely by hip, knee, elbow, foot, ankle, wrist and jaw problems.
